Our Valrico, Florida-based Harley’s Heroes participated in their 3rd annual Strawberry Festival Parade recently in Plant City!
Harley’s Heroes of Valrico team captain, Anne Cogley, tells us all about it: “Our team had a wonderful day marching in the famous Strawberry Festival Grand Parade. Our group of 31 included: adult veterinary assisting students from a local technical school, Doug our amazing ‘float’ driver showcasing our giant homemade puppy mill crate filled with toy dogs of all shapes and sizes, our team and several very talented ‘backstage’ volunteers. We were all very excited to bring awareness about puppy mills and Harley’s Dream to thousands along the parade route for our 3rd consecutive year. We proudly marched with our banners, signs, Harley & Teddy superhero capes, paw balloons and dog themed music along with 134 other wonderful units while passing out 3000+ educational flyers winding our way through beautiful historic downtown Plant City. Many parade viewers stood up from their lawn chairs clapping and shouting THANK YOU, WE SUPPORT YOU, END PUPPY MILLS, ADOPT DON’T SHOP and singing along to our music. We were humbled and extremely grateful to have received such a warm welcome from the crowds along the entire route. It was a very moving experience leaving us feeling extremely grateful for the overwhelming community support of our mission. The ‘icing on the cake’ came later in the week when we were notified that we won our 2nd Strawberry Grand Parade trophy winning 3rd place in our category!”
We’re so proud of this awesome group of dedicated advocates for sharing Harley and his dream with THOUSANDS of people! Enjoy the photos below.
