This One’s in Honor of You, Harley

His name is Julian.

It was purely by chance that I (Harley’s mom) saw this photo of him on a Los Angeles shelter website. The description said this little Chihuahua was 14 years old, knew obedience commands, and is good with cats and small children … BUT, as you can see in the image, he has a large growth/tumor. Because of that, combined with his age, this poor guy most likely would never have made it out of the shelter alive.

So I posted his picture on my personal facebook page.

There was much messaging and orchestration, but in less than 24 hours this little guy’s destiny changed … Christy Cane contacted the shelter, Yoko Masuda pulled Julian from the shelter, and Carolyn Fairbanks with The Pet Association of Estes Park agreed to accept Julian into her rescue once he arrives in Colorado and make sure he spends the rest of his life being loved!

The following message came from Yoko, along with this happy photo of Julian’s ‘freedom ride’:

“SAFE!! Sweet Julian will be going to the vet tomorrow night and hopefully will be cleared to fly with me on our way to Colorado as we make our way to celebrate Harley’s life. On my way here the clouds and sky were so beautiful. I know Harley was helping us all to help this little boy out. This one’s in honor of you, Harley!”

THIS ONE’S IN HONOR OF YOU, HARLEY!
