Board of Directors

Harley’s Dream includes four board members who are equally passionate about bringing an end to the commercial dog breeding industry. Our board members each play a vital role in the function of our organization. We are pleased to present Elena, Frank, Kimberly, and Rudi.

elena-willets-board-of-directorsElena Willets – Chairman of the Board

A life-long love of animals and a strong desire to make a difference for breeding dogs suffering in puppy mills is what motivates Elena Willets. She is a nationally renowned artist whose passion for animals is reflected in her work. Elena (and her late husband Jim) have rescued many dogs and cats over the years but currently, Decker, a young Border Collie saved from a high-kill shelter in New Mexico, is the center of Elena’s life.   Besides art, Elena enjoys horses, travel and volunteering her time at a local animal shelter.

frank-oliver-board-of-directorsFrank Oliver – Board Treasurer

Frank Oliver brings not only a love of man’s best friend to the board, but he also brings a strong background in business and finance. Frank is the president and founder of Oliver Financial Group based in Longmont, Colorado. He is active in charitable work as a Board Member of the Twin Peaks Rotary and “A Woman’s Work” charity which provides financial support for women in need, plus he is an annual participant in the Fireball Run, a national event that helps find missing children. Frank lives with his wife, Brittany, along with their cat, Hobie, and 2 rescued Thoroughbred horses, Fleet and Vita.

kimberly-mcnally-board-of-directorsKimberly McNally – Board Secretary

Kimberly first learned about the horrors of puppy mills about 35 years ago, when she was just a teenager. Her first dog, a Pekinese name Delilah, was discarded by a mill, completely covered in mats and left to die – before she found a loving home with Kimberly. Over the course of many years, Kim has rescued hundreds of animals: dogs, cats, horses, pigs, chickens, birds and even reptiles. Animal welfare has always been a passion of hers – always wanting to (do something more) to help. She lives with her 2 dogs, a Chihuahua named Rosie and a Chinese Crested/Chihuahua mix named Sydney. Kimberly’s professional background is in the field of logistics, primarily import/export. She brings her strong knowledge of working with government agencies to Harley’s Dream.

Kimberly can be reached via mail at: Kimberly McNally c/o Harley’s Dream, PO Box 64, Berthoud, CO 80513

Rudi Taylor
Founder and Executive Director

Rudi Taylor has spent the past 40+ years together raising her 4 daughters and building two successful businesses in northern Colorado. While doing so, she always surrounded herself with animals – many dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs, finches, cockatoos, and even an iguana named Myron.

Over the years, Rudi has worked tirelessly, volunteering in nearly every aspect of canine welfare, but now she is focused on getting to the source of the overpopulation/euthanization problem by bringing an end to puppy mills.

It wasn’t until she adopted their first puppy mill survivor Cricket in 2009 that she learned of the horrors of puppy mills and, almost immediately, they became involved in the fight to help free the breeding dogs suffering in cages. This led her to Harley, a then 10-year-old, one-eyed crippled Chihuahua who she adopted. For five years following his rescue, Rudi and Harley worked hard educating children and adults about puppy mills. As a member of a rescue team, she personally assisted in the rescue of 760 mill dogs and helped raise the money to save and care for thousands more. After Harley passed away, Rudi formed the 501(c)(3) nonprofit  Harley’s Dream, with a mission to create awareness about and ultimately, bring an end to puppy mills.
