Melissa, Always Our Hero

The Harley community is devastated at the sudden passing of Melissa Magerfleisch … our long-time friend, Harley’s Hero, and warrior against puppy mills. To say that this beautiful woman was an inspiration to everyone who knew her is an understatement. There has never been a stronger, more positive and compassionate human being. Throughout her courageous cancer battle, Melissa remained brave and determined to make a difference. She was absolutely devoted to her loving family and friends. Our deepest condolences go out to them; please keep them all in your prayers as they try to make sense of life without her.

Today, one of the brightest lights in our world has gone out, but we know that the heavens have gained a new, brilliant star that will forever shine in our hearts and will continue to inspire us every single day.

“We love you, Melissa. You have been, and always will be, our hero for the strength, faith and courage with which you faced your illness, and for the way you lived life to the fullest even to the end. Your inspiration will continue to guide us and strengthen us.”

  5. I am so sorry to learn of Melissa’s passing. While I did not ever meet Melissa, she had a way of making you feel like a friend. She was an amazing woman and she gave her all in the fight against puppy mills. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends and fur babies. I have no doubt she is hanging out with Harley and Teddy and all of the other pets who have passed. GONE WAY TOO SOON. Damn you cancer.

  8. Dang girl, I will miss you! What a light you were to all who knew you. Such an inspiration. One of my very favorite Heroes, and HH education partners. You made this world a gentler, kinder, place with that infectious smile you always wore, no matter what your shoulders had to carry. Always worried about others. I sure love you. I will forever miss you. Rock on angel.
