There will always be Hope, and Angels

Our hearts are filled with sadness with the news that precious Hope has passed away. Throughout her journey from the euthanasia list to freedom, this tiny girl stole all of our hearts, but most especially that of her mom.

Hope was adopted from Harley’s House of Dreams by Vickie only 6 months ago, knowing she might not have much time left – her health issues were advanced. But in Vickie’s loving care, Hope thrived. She gained weight, she went for daily walks, she was the happiest little dog in the world. She was cherished. Those 6 months were a lifetime of love and happiness to Hope – exactly what she deserved after many years of suffering.

This morning, Hope’s mom sent us the following message.
“My first thought when I woke up this morning – I needed to get Hope up and get her breakfast going. Before I remembered there was no Hope – no loving little dog with her cute floppy ears and soft little body. While my tears started to fall, and the remembering hit me, I realized that she is now whole and basking in the love of God and while her earthly presence is no more – there is always Hope.” – Vickie Daily

When we rescue a dog from the shelter, we rarely know its history, temperament or anything about its health – but that’s okay. Some dogs become healthy quickly and will live for years, but occasionally there is a dog with little time left and those dogs need us just as much.

We are so grateful to have been able to help Hope find love and happiness through our rescue program, and we’re especially appreciative to everyone whose support and donations made it possible.

Hope’s story:
From the moment we learned of the sad little elderly dog languishing in a Los Angeles shelter, we knew we had to try to save her. We named her “Hope” because it would be three days before the shelter would release her. We didn’t know if she would survive … and we “hoped” and prayed she would.

  6. Hope was a blessing and in return was truly blessed…. Every dog should know that kind of love she had…and every dog should be so fortunate as to have those as their eternal memories…. <3 <3 <3
