Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today we honor the dream, life, and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

“Never, never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.”

“The time is always right to do what is right.”

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

“There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.”

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?'”

  1. I abhor puppy mills and the horrible way those poor dogs have to live. I live in CedarRapids, Iowa and since Iowa is #3 in the nation for puppy mills, I am continually contacting our legislatures and city council members to pass a bill to call on pet stores to only sell animals from shelters or rescue operations. Both of my dogs are rescues, all puppy mills should be outlawed in every State!

  2. I was able to give out some of the Harley’s Dream End Puppy Mills cards at church yesterday and some questions were raised and I was able to explain.

  3. I volunteer at an amazing senior dog rescue it truly is heaven on earth for these sweet seniors many are blind and have health issues but they have so much heart. They teach us so much, many times my time is spent holding and loving them. It is so rewarding my way of giving. My little dog is a rescue
