Educating School Children About Puppy Mills

Early this month we distributed Love Like Harley child-friendly Puppy Mill Awareness supplies to teachers at 105 schools (in 33 states) across the country. Each kit included activity sheets, stickers, bracelets, temporary tattoos, and mini-flyers. We’ve been receiving WONDERFUL FEEDBACK! Children are proud of their rescue dogs, they are learning to avoid pet stores that sell puppies, and they are educating their parents!

This fun campaign had the ability to educate at least 32,000 children and adults about the pet store/puppy mill connection. Kids are like sponges… they learn and retain information better than most adults. They love animals and they love sharing with their families what they have learned.

Your tax-deductible donation of only $30 will allow us to send supplies to 100 elementary school students. Please make a donation at this link.

If you’re an educator, stay tuned, we will be offering superhero-themed awareness kits in late March (free to educators). If you’re interested, please send an email to info@harleysdream.org and we will contact you when the kits are available.

We’re excited about this opportunity to educate children about the welfare of our canine friends in a positive, fun and creative manner. Thank you!

  2. What a wonderful idea! Showing children the horrible affects of puppy mills, the abuse of animals that exist today and shown the right way to treat a pet, helps them grow into better adults! I worked in the Cedar Rapids Iowa School District for over 30 years, I’m hoping Iowa schools are involved in this project. It would also be a great idea to involve children with local animal shelters! Thank you so much for all you do for the treatment of animals!

  3. this is a great program – wish I knew someone with school aged children
