Missing Fernando

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I miss this funny little guy. I’ve been working on writing Fernando’s story but it’s taking some time. It’s not easy looking at his photos and it’s even more difficult writing about him. I still have those moments when I cannot believe he’s gone. I know he had a wonderful 16 months with us, but of course, that’s never enough. Fernando helped heal my heart after losing Harley, and I helped heal his after many years of abuse. We had a very special connection and I’ll share more about that in the very near future. Meanwhile, it’s so important to me that his memory stays alive.

Love, Rudi

    • I was just reading your post about missing Fernando. Just wanted to send this back your way. I so enjoyed reading the story of Fernando, my Tango and the blue shirt. It gives me Comfort and Hope. I know there is really nothing right now that can heal your heart and the hole that is in it at the passing of Fernando. Losing him a year after losing Harley…… I don’t think I could deal with it. But please know….. I have a little yellow dog who is so proud to wear Fernando’s favorite blue shirt and does his best to try to continue the legacy that Zoie, Harley and Fernando started. Please know that Tango (all of us) is doing what he can in remembrance of Fernando and I hope that gives you a little bit of comfort. Love you, Rudi Taylor and Dan. As always… Thanks for you for all that you do.

  4. All I see when I look at Fernando’s pictures is love….He was just a ray of sunshine walking among us…. still is really…. Even so, this brought tears to my eyes…he should have had years with you (and us)…. We should all be so blessed as to have angels like Harley and Fernando share their lives, however short, with us…. ❤ 😥 ❤

  8. Hi Rudi, Fernando was so special. I remember you telling a story about how if you disturbed him when he was tired or sleeping he would growl and go into attack mode. That made me laugh so much because my Coco does the same thing. Please keep sharing stories about him. we love to read them. ❤

  10. Fernando was my favorite since Harley passed. I often wished he was mine to snuggle. Unfortunately, we live in Delaware, too far away. I would love to know Fernando’s story. Thanks for loving these poor dogs. Harley’s fund is my top animals cause.

  11. Oh dear, I did not realize Fernado had crossed the rainbow bridge. He seemed as sweet as Harley. I rescued a 5 year old puppy mill female who is a small beagle. She too was abused. Blind from a detached retina from blunt force trauma, need I say more. She has been with us for 3 months now, and is the love of our lives. gentle little lady that she is. she has scars all over her from being mistreated. I know the love you feel for your rescue family.

  15. Aww, what a sweet boy. How could anyone ever forget that sweet innocent face. 16 months is not a very long time, 16 years would never be enough time with him . But memories and photos are powerful things that you can hold onto forever. I can’t wait to hear the stories and antics you will share with all of us when you are ready, though we never knew him personally, we knew and loved him through photos and posts that you are kind enough to share. Relating those stories will be comforting and healing but heartbreaking as well. Just know he had the best 16 months of his life with you. ❤️🐾🐾

  18. Rudi and Dan, I’m so sorry for your loss!! I think of Fernando often!! Y’all didn’t have him long but you gave him the BEST life he ever had in the short time you had him. He knew love and tenderness for the first time and that wiped away all that he went through once the walls came down. He touched many life’s and was a little trooper!! Keeping y’all in prayer. Much love and BIG HUGS! 💕💜💕 Tami and Lucky
