Harley’s First Facebook Post

“Through tears, I read Harley’s very first Facebook post from 5 years ago. My tears were of love, sadness, pride, amazement, and of tremendous loss. I wonder if Harley knew what was in store for him. Could anyone have ever imagined the accomplishments he would make during his 5 years of freedom?” -Rudi (Harley’s mom)

Below are some of Harley’s earliest photos:

  8. Dear Harley.
I’ve never seen your first Facebook posting when you first posted it on March 15, 2012.
You’ve come along way, Harley and everyone knows your name. Thank you, Harley for continually inspiring all of us to do something good and what’s important. I believe in Harley’s Dream and I will always love ❤️ you.

  9. I loved Harley from the moment I saw his first facebook post. I talked about him all of the time. People thought he was a human by the way I spoke of him. Then they thought he was my dog because I spoke with such love and passion for him. Then in March 2014, I went to CO to volunteer at The National Mill Dog Rescue and meet the 3 “people” who influenced me the most and changed my life forever. I was finally going to meet Theresa Strader, Harley Taylor and sweet little Teddy, Harley’s best buddy and rescue partner. Unfortunately, Harley and Teddy’s families were on the road so I didn’t get to meet them but Ms. Theresa said you will just have to come back again. It was my goal to meet the little guy who stole my heart. I kept telling people, I have to get back there because I just need to kiss that little spot on his nose and tell him that he is a life changer and life saver. Then March 20th 2016 happened. March 2oth, the International Day of Happiness became the saddest day of my life. Our little Hero Dog, cover model, spokesdog for NMDR, and Teddy’s best buddy was gone. Thank God for Dan and Rudi Taylor, because he may be gone in body, but he will live on forever in #HarleysDream. Miss you sweet boy xoxo

  10. I too missed the first couple of years of Harleys life on here. I am so glad you are persistent with your posts, otherwise many of us would not be aware of Puppy Mill existence!! I NEVER WAS!!! Believe me, I have informed many, many people and I will continue to make many more people aware of this problem and hopefully some day it will go away permanently without bringing any more harm or suffering to dogs. Rudi and Dan I commend you and NMDR with Teresa Strader and the rest of you, including Teddy and his Parents also!! Fly high sweet Angel…I Love you for Always Harley!!!

  11. I would like to be included in Harleys Facebook page. I’ve missed him and not seeing his little handsome face. I love you Harley. You touched my life and heart.

  12. I didn’t know about the boy for his first year of freedom. I wish I had met him as that dapper young man of 10!
Thank you for sharing this with us.

  13. Thank you so Much, Rudi. This means the world to Harley’s friends and fans. Just reading his first words to us, and seeing his adorable pictures. It brings tears to my eyes, but also MANY MANY happy memories of a sweet little soul, who was a bigger star than he could ever dream. And a bigger inspiration to so many, then he ever would have thought possible. I will always keep fighting to make his dream a reality.

  14. This post touched my heart so deeply. And still tears come over the loss of this very special little guy. He has touched hearts in so many ways, in so many places. Truly Harley was and is magical! He can put a smile on your face when you’re down so low. It doesn’t seem possible that it will be a year since he went to the Rainbow Bridge. I can’t imagine the loss Rudi and Dan have felt. These first photos of Harley are so precious, such sweet memories. I loved your boy then and will always. God bless you all, and to Harley…your dream will one day come true. Loving you always, Elizabeth ❤

  15. I consider myself so lucky to have met this sweet boy. I know i will shed tears Monday on his Anniversary of passing. Miss you Harley!

  16. I did not meet Harley in person, nor was I one of his first followers, but once I heard about him and NMDR, I never stopped learning about puppy mills, and trying to help make a difference by informing others, donating, helping make signs for the rallies, etc. Thanks to Dan and Rudi, I felt like I actually knew Harley! I am honored to be in Harley’s Heroes, and I am amazed at how much Harley has changed my life for the better. I love you, Angel Harley, and I miss you every day. I hope we are making you proud! <3

  17. Always remember Harley and his big dream. Love to Harley’s family and friends. We miss him.

  18. Harley , Happy Gotcha Day.
Miss you so much. Glad I got to be your friend for almost 3 of those years .
A cute young man. And always a sleepy head.
Still love you in those sweaters.
Thank you for sharing some pictures we never saw. Thank you Rudi for sharing Harley with us. It’s a privealege and an honor to know his story and the Taylor family.

  19. Reading that made me cry too. Sweet Harley Angel 😇 you accomplished so much in the time u were free. So many people are now aware of puppy mills and it’s because of you speaking out and your mom and dad too. Run free sweet boy. ❤❤❤

  20. It’s so good to see these early photos of Harley! I, like others, did not know him 5 years ago, but as soon as I learned about him and what he suffered for 10 years in a puppy mill, I had to share his message with everyone I knew. He was such a sweet and special little doggy, and I know how much it broke Rudi and Dan’s hearts when he left this world, but they were very strong, pushed through their pain, and continue Harley’s purpose and his dream to end puppy mills forever. We have all been changed by this little dog, Harley, and his friend Teddy, in their special rescue missions and in educating the world about the evils of puppy mills. Although we all miss Harley so much, we are glad that he is not in pain any more, and I’m sure he is having fun in doggy and kitty heaven on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. Soar high sweet angel Harley!
