A lot of people will tell you, “Those aren’t sunflowers, they are HARLEY FLOWERS!”
It wasn’t until after Harley passed away that I began to feel the connection between Harley and sunflowers. Hundreds of Harley’s friends and followers were feeling the same thing … and it continues, it may never stop. I absolutely cannot pass by a sunflower and not think of precious Harley. Sometimes the flowers appear at exactly the right moment, right when I need them most, it’s not easy to explain, but it’s no coincidence. “Thank you, Harley!”
So I decided to do a little research and this is what I found: Sunflowers symbolize happiness, vitality, faith, healing, loyalty and long-life. They provide energy in the form of nourishment and vibrance.
The sunflower moves itself in the most direct position in front of the sun so it can get the maximum sun rays. Harley understood that perfectly! The sunflower’s namesake, the sun, meant everything to Harley. After living inside a dark building with no sunlight for the first 10 years of his life … so naturally, he loved the sun and it’s warmth!
So nice to see someone love an animal as you loved him
Harley embodied the symbolism of the Sunflower! He was a ray of sunshine, he embodied vitality even though he was crippled, he had a long life in spite of the odds and he is always with those of us who loved him from afar 🌻🌻🌻
loved Harley so, can’t wait to plant my sunflower garden in the spring – I plan on harvesting the seeds in the fall and hope to hand them out to others so they can experience the benefits of loving Harley and the positive energy of these flowers

Thank you so much for sharing this. I’ve always loved sunflowers and miss them. We had so many in Indiana where I grew up. Harley surely was a special boy with his love for the sun. And flowers and all nature. So glad he got to spend the last of his life with things he missed at the beginning.,
Harley was such a precious boy. I’ll see a sunflower and see Harley’s precious face in my mind sniffing “his” sunflower. Yes, we will always think: Harley-Sunflower.

Love the pictures. Keep posting them as a reminder to people that there are not aware of puppy mills or people on the fence, that can go either way. Must be a one or two lines about each picture… We must keep his and our dream alive to somehow stop these ……people from breeding and the killing that goes along with the breeding.

It is so fitting for a sunflower be a reminder of Harley. It breaks my heart to think of all the little dogs that live in the dark, cruel world of puppy mills. I wish Harley could have been with us longer. I miss him as much as if he were one of my own. I am so thankful that he was able to be loved and have a good life .
