Is there anything else I can help you with?

One of Harley’s friends shared with us the following story and WE LOVE IT!  Please consider doing the same (and then tell us about it).

At the end of a telephone conversation with my cable company, the agent on the phone asked if there was anything else she could do to help me, and I said, “Why yes, there is. Please never buy a puppy online or at a pet store. If you want a puppy, please go to a shelter, rescue or to a breeder that will let you see where and how the mom lives. Puppies sold online or in pet stores are from puppy mills where dogs are forced to live their lives in horrible conditions.”

It turns out that the agent didn’t know anything about puppy mills at all. We talked for several minutes and she said she was going to look up puppy mills on her lunch break.

When someone asks you if there is anything else they can do to help you, be sure to tell them, “Why yes, there is!”

  1. This is a perfect example of how we can all spread the word about puppy mills in small ways and while educating those around us. We tend to think that everyone knows about mills; they do not. When we tell them even in a short conversation like this, they learn something new and we begin to turn the tide of public behavior. Mills thrive because we buy the products. We stop that by making better choices.

  2. Agree, and I do that all the time. I how ever never steer anyone toward a breeder ever, for there is no such thing as a responsible one.

  3. This is such a great idea. I have to share this with my friends. Hoping someday Harley’s dream of no more puppy mills some day

  4. ..
actually, I do this all the time ☺
IMO, if people don’t want me to answer
don’t ask me the question ☺

  8. I have know about puppy mills for years when I visit a friend in Indiana she took me to a mill and showed me how they lived and I was apauled at the conditions that these poor animals had to live and all the puppies and the person in charge told me that these puppies go to various pet stores all around the area and outside the area…and that’s when I decided never ever to get a dog at a pet store…my dogs that I’ve had have both been rescued and I will continue to rescue….
