Harley, A Celebration of his Life

Harley, a celebration of his life

The life and times of “Harley Freight Train Taylor” will be celebrated on June 24th in Harley’s hometown of Berthoud, Colorado.

The event will be held at Grace Place, 375 Meadowlark Drive, Berthoud, CO 80513 – from 4pm until 7pm.  It will be a potluck  and all drinks will be provided.

Theresa Strader, National Mill Dog Rescue founder, will be speaking during the event, as well as Dan & Rudi Taylor and a “surprise” guest. Many of Harley’s belongings will be on display, including sweaters, collars, blankets, toys, awards, artwork and much more. Unique and beautiful items produced especially for this event will be available for purchase and will support Harley’s puppy mill awareness campaign at NMDR.

The theme will be sunflowers – because Harley loved the outdoors, flowers and especially … the sunshine.

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at this event and we’re very sorry about that. We tried hard to find a venue that would allow dogs (and food).

A Facebook event was created that you can join or follow, click here.  For those who cannot attend, we hope to provide videos clips and posts during the event that can be viewed on Harley’s facebook page and in the event group as well.

Please join us the following day, June 25th, for the fourth annual Hops and Harley, a dog-friendly, family fun event which benefits National Mill Dog Rescue.

About Harley:
Harley spent 10 years living in a small cage in a puppy mill before he was rescued and found his very own forever home where he was loved beyond measure. He then became a spokesdog against puppy mills, educating millions of people around the world about the horrors of the commercial dog breeding industry. Harley passed away peacefully in the arms of his devoted mom and dad on March 20, 2016.

“Reflecting on the legacy of Harley, I am flooded with hundreds of memories; precious moments in time where Harley was changing minds and touching hearts before our eyes. When I think of the incredible numbers of people he educated and the extraordinary support his mission brought to NMDR, I am humbled. I am so very grateful to Rudi and Dan Taylor for your love, support, ideas and courage and above all, for sharing Harley and his remarkable life with all of us. People across the globe are grieving along with you, but we are each better people for having known the story of your precious boy Harley, who – beyond the shadow of any doubt – changed the world!” -Theresa Strader

  1. I will be with you in spirit and will be reflecting on Harley’s truly extraordinary life. He was meant to be rescued, meant to be loved and meant to become a spokesdog for countless others who have no voice.

His name is known around the world and his legacy will surely be remarkable.

  2. This is a beautiful and touching tribute to that “little dog with a big dream”. Miss that little guy and so sorry I live up in Canada and can’t be there in person.
