As many of you know, we recently entered Harley in the Frontier Airlines mascot contest. Had he won, he would have been on the tail of one of their new planes – a great way to honor Harley by spreading the message about puppy mills so much farther. Once entered, Harley quickly gained tremendous support thanks to you – his fans – and he also gained the support of several news stations, animal welfare organizations and even celebrities. Over the course of a week Harley reached over 37,000 votes and was in first place. He was well ahead of all other contestants.
It soon became clear that Harley had an excellent chance of winning the contest. Then, suddenly, Frontier Airlines suspended the contest. Their explanation was that there was voter fraud and they blamed international voters. (we downloaded the contest rules when Harley was first entered and there was NO mention that non-USA residents could not vote). A couple of news sources immediately picked up the story and implied that HARLEY WAS CHEATING. Dan spoke at length with the Denver Post and they revised their original inflammatory article. We have reached out to Jim Faulkner, spokesman for Frontier Airlines, but as of yet we have not heard back from him.
Yes, 37,000 votes in a week may seem staggering to some … but they don’t know Harley’s supporters!!! We know everyone has been voting with integrity and pure purpose, and we are grateful for all of your support in wanting to see Harley’s message carried even farther. We know his legacy will grow and his mission will continue to be shared around the world … because of you. Thank you.
We feel Frontier Airlines owes everyone a clarification and an apology – not a $20 travel certificate which they offered. (Many are asking Frontier to donate their $20 to National Mill Dog Rescue!)

This makes me so sad and angry. I personally put a reminder on my phone every day to remember to go online and vote for Harley. Shame on Frontier and the Denver Post! Wasn’t that the point of the contest? To vote for your favorite mascot? The number of votes for Harley is just proof of his mission and importance in the the lives of so many people.
37,000 votes is a drop in the bucket for Harley. He has over 90,000 FB followers !! Plus Twitter etc. I think that Frontier Airlines decided that their “free” advertising had run its course….

Apparently the weren’t ready for such a landslide of votes! They also need to keep up with what’s going on in the world. If they had taken a look at any Harley site they would soon realize that he is an International celebrity. We will remain #harleystrong!

well, I believe in honor and integrity – I shared Harley’s post numerous times per day to get the word out – however, today, Frontier has the nerve to start sending me emails for their flights. if they have rescinded all our votes (and the other hopefuls) then they should be fair and not use the email addresses to promote their products
We will continue Harley’s dream….he has impacted hundreds of thousands of people…I guess Frontier just didn’t know how much Harley was loved by all of us…sad…
I have gone through all kinds of emotions since I first heard about Frontier’s withdrawal and then a newspaper published a story on it. We all are still grieving the loss of Harley and all we want is to honor him in a great way. What Harley has stood for for many years. I believe in my heart that with this group we can end puppy mills. We have an army now and we need to fight for the animals that don’t have a voice! Together we stand in the honor of “Harley”…. I think we should all demand that the 20.00 ‘s should go to National Mill Dog Rescue.I sure don’t want it & would definitely fly another carrier after this nasty way they have treated Harley.HE & WE ARE NOT CHEATERS.He just had a lot of fans before he passed & will continue to have forever.We all love that lil guy. <3

I feel that Frontier and the Denver Post should make a public apology to the Taylors, NMDR for calling you cheaters and frauds.
I just sent them my email asking them to donate my voucher to National Mill Dog Rescue, AND I made sure to click on ‘unsubscribe’. Harley was so much more than a ‘mascot’… he was a hero and an inspiration! Loved and missed by so many!
This is beautiful, Harley on the tail of a plane. I don’t say much on face book but I have been following Harley for many years and fell in love with him and you, Rudi and Dan. I have enough shirts to make a quilt because living in a little town in NC, I knew I would probably never get to meet Harley…….so I thought buy a T-shirt and feel close to Harley. Before you started the blog, I would print off the cute little stories of what Harley was doing, all his escapades and accolades from face book and I started my own little Harley scrape book! My husband has been really ill for the last 2 years and in and out of the hospital. I’m a little behind but I cherish every piece of it. I have not rescued a Chihuahua but I do have 3 Chihuahuas, 2 long hair and one short hair and they are the loves of my life. They each one have their own personality and are dear to my heart.
I will keep Harley in my heart for the rest of my life. He was an inspiration to everyone who knew him or about him. I was privileged to meet him twice and wish I could have known him better. Because of Rudi and Dan and his Facebook page I feel like I did. I voted for him for the American hero awards relentlessly and for every other contest Rudi posted for him. Including this Frontier debacle. What

I absolutely want my $20.00 voucher donated to National Mill House !! If it weren’t for voting for Harley, I would never have known they existed, and after the way they have been conducting themselves, I wish I still didn’t know about them !! NOTHING will look better than a picture of Harley flying high, as we all know he is. God Speed little one.

I had a feeling when Harley entered this contest that if he was winning Frontier would pull some trick to keep him from being the winner. Frontier has no clue how many supporters Harley has and how important it is that puppy mills be eliminated. They wanted a handsome, tough looking mascot. They can’t understand that a little chihuahua, blind in one eye and that walks a little slow, is a real super hero. I challenge Frontier to donate the $20 they are offering as a voucher to each voters charity of their choice and to those who voted for, and support Harley, lets all request that Frontier donate $20 to NMDR in Harley’s memory to support eliminating puppy mills.
I just got that mailing with the voucher for $20 and said to myself what am i going to do with this if i can donate it i would love to and so sorry about there new rules so unfair Harley has so much support and love you cant help it <e he deserved to win that would of been awesome to see his face on the planes soaring through the skies <3 so sorry but Harley is a winner to me and still a Hero <3
I received an email from Frontier Airline with their flight coupon. I replied to their email and told them how unfair they were to Harley and told them to give the $20 flight voucher in cash to NMDR! I also shared, with my friends and family, your Facebook post about this. I hope that Frontier Airlines gets enough bad publicity from this to make them still put Harley on the tail.
The photo you posted recently of Harley’s cape and collars…that’s what belongs on Frontier’s tail wing. Harley is free and whole now, watching over all the dogs in need of saving. With your help, Dan and Rudi, Harley blazed his own frontiers, winning thousands of friends the world over. The contest doesn’t matter at this point, but shame on Frontier Airlines for calling it off.
Harley is and always will be our Hero. The way Frontier has handled this whole contest is a joke. They just can’t believe that such a little dog could have such a huge following. They just underestimated Harley and all his fans. We could get 100,000 in a month if need be! Frontier better not sell my information to anyone either I can tell you that! I believe we should all rally and not give Frontier our business, hit them where it really hurts. Thank you Rudi and Dan for all you have done in keeping us informed about this situation and keeping it all in perspective. Harley was a wonderful little pup with a great big dream. Let’s keep that dream alive for Dan,Rudi,Harley and all the sweet dogs that are still locked up in those horrific puppy mills. We love you Harley. We miss you dearly
Harley both was and is the most beautiful dog in the world to me for all the good that his sweet soul represents. It is Frontiers huge lost to not have a mascot that represents an organization that is committed to performing wonderful acts of humanity and also bring awareness to an abusive industry that should not exist in our society.
We will continue to work towards our Goal of no more Puppy Mills as a little dog Named Harley Gathered a large group of Hearts to carry on. The people at Frontier, as well as the reporter from the Denver post, have no clue. That perfect little face that was referred to as a one eye chihuahua…. I take affront to the disrespect… Thank you, Harley,for choosing each and every follower to be a part of educating the world.
As I said in a letter to Frontier we were giving you an opportunity to do something that would have been great for you and Harley’s dream, sorry you can’t see that.
Harley deserves his picture on that plane. If enough people show their support it will happen

I’m disappointed in frontier. We love Harley and will continue supporting him with or without frontier. Frontier airlines needs to donate to national mill dog rescue because the fact of the matter is Harley is our hero and he continues saving lives from the other side of the rainbow bridge. #HarleysDream will live on for eternity!

We love Harley and we all know he gained a lot of attention and fans all around the world and of course was known for being our Hero dog of the year which i know gained him more followers to <3 so what did they expect Harley will always be our hero <3 he would of looked great on the wing of the plane flying free and sending his message to everyone
